Headphones reviews

I can't belive that much sound comes out of these headphones. I play a lot of games on my computer and have surround sound for them but, when I use these I can hear the grass blowing in the wind, the clothes rubbing together and the shell from the gun ting on the floor. I couldn't of asked for a better pair of headphones then these for 50 dollars!

Being a low budget audiophile, I decided to get a more decent pair of headphones for use with my computer and digital piano/keyboard.
I had been using a pair of HD 202 cans, also by sennheiser, and I really liked their "crisp" highs, deep and less punchy bass, and the noise isolation.
I personally like to have very deep frequency response (not too punchy), less mid tones, and very crisp (not too shrill) highs.
Based on what I had read, the EH-350s were a solid value for a headphone upgrade, especially if you liked lots of bass.

Well, I got 'em.

The biggest difference between th HD 202s and these EH 350 are the following:

EH 350: Tighter/punchier bass, slightly lower frequency response,
More realistic high frequency, slightly higher quality padding,
Can handle more bass, better sound field/imaging,
"fuller" sound, A bit more sound isolation,
a tad bit harsher/tighter on the highs(more natural sounding).

HD 202: Less punchy bass, less bass overall, very crisp highs,
better balance in the lower frequencies (compared to EH 250)
cannot get as loud, slightly lesser quality materials.


Comparing the two, the EH 250 are perfect for people who like bass, but so are the HD 202, which I absolutely love for their bass (the EH 250 are even warmer with the bass-I'm in love!).
Once I wear in the EH 250s, I imagine they will sound even better.
The sound difference stepping up from the HD 202 to the EH 350 is not hugely noticeable, but is still good enough to notice easily, just keep in mind that you will have to pay a good $55+ to get better sound than this.
The only reason I gave these headphones 4 stars is because between the frequencies of 50Hz-100Hz, these cans really sparkle, below 45Hz, they are too soft spoken--I'm a bass fanatic, so this will not matter very much to most of you guys/girls.

Money-wise, you won't be making a bad investment; if you've never graduated past those cheap headphones from Walmart, or the buds that came with your MP3 player, you will be amazed with the superb performance and quality of these Sennheisers.
If you want to spend a little more, you can get the Sennheiser EH 350, sennheiser HD 205, or some Audio Technica cans.
Sony has some good professional cans (MDR V6), but they are more expensive.

Great sound. Decent noise blocking. Firm fit, but if I wear them too long it presses on my ears and becomes uncomfortable.

Nice-ish headphones, lots of bass response, especially compared to entry-level consumer headphones (say, sony's $30 "studio monitor style" setup). I bought these to replace a pair of HD-202s when the cord broke off from being jerked too many times. That probably won't be happening here, though, because these have little jacks at the bottom of each phone, and they disconnect rather than breaking. They sound about the same as the 202s did, they weigh a little more, but they're comfortable and a good buy at $40.

I normally don't write reviews for things, but since the previous reviews gave me a somewhat jaded view towards these headphones before I bought them (yeah, I bought them anyways) I decided my imput would be helpful.

I bought these for the bass emphasis and while other reviewers have said the bass is a bit over-powering, I don't think so at all.

It is a bit louder than normal, but the treble is slightly emphasized as well, so the sound ends up being quite balanced. Even if it were too much for someone, that's what equalizers are for. (People who really appreciate music should know how to use them and I'm assuming that's who is buying these headphones in the first place.)

Aside from that, I'm writing this upon my first night of listening, and while I expected them to need some sort of breaking in, they are fine as they are and can probably only get better.

They are really comfortable on my ears and the super long cord gives me ample space to move around and do other things while I'm listening, as opposed to being confined to sitting with my laptop. (You can actually keep the twist-tie on if you don't want all the extra cord flailing about.)

My only complaint is that they are a bit tight on my head, but I'm hoping they'll eventually conform to my shape.
