Very comfortable and very good sounding over the ear headphones. Quite a bargain for their price: even good for classical music, and pleasant overkill for pop and jazz. Of course, all over the ear models are a little warmer with prolonged (2-3 hours) listening, compared with on the ear models. But just taking them off for 5 minutes every half hour solves that. In any case, the privacy, immediacy of the sound, and comfort exceed any on the ear headphones. Very lightweight but not too fragile, mine have lasted for years, so I expect this latest purchase (for another house) will last well also. Hope they make these forever (and hope their quality does not decline).

When these headphones used to retail from $200-$150, they were too expensive for my wallet. Now, with Koss trying to liquidate existing stock at dirt cheap prices ($25 on e-bay from a certified Koss Ebay Store salesman, this pair is one of the best deals in a long time. Granted the packaging and build quality of these phones, in no way, scream "high-end headphones"; these headphones are all about sound. The sound from these phones is perfect for everything from good quality rock to classical music. Being a little bass shy, they may not be the best for people who are looking for heavy bass. And the sound can be improved immensely with the use of even a cheap amplifier such as the PA2V2. As mentioned, the build quality on these is not the best, but for $7.00, these can be mailed back to Koss when they break and they will either be fixed, replaced or you will be reimbursed for the cost of the headphones as part of Koss's legendary No-Questions-Asked Lifetime Warranty.
Definitely consider this pair of headphones as a viable entry level pair of headphones.

Poor performance for the price. Not much of a range, very little base, and the right speaker crackled at higher volume! What a stinker!

i have the r-30s and the a-130 the r-30 are beter and they cost half.
